No one hurt in STC car fireBy KATE THAYER - kthayer@kcchronicle.comST. CHARLES – A car caught fire Sunday afternoon, damaging two other cars nearby. No one was hurt by the blaze, said Battalion Chief Kevin Christensen. Firefighters were called about 2 p.m. to the 100 block of Walnut Drive, near the Fox Run apartments, he said. When they arrived, they found a 2001 Ford Expedition with the engine compartment and part of the interior on fire, Christensen said. Heat damage also was found on the doors of cars on either side of the Expedition, he said. Christensen said the fire likely was caused by an electric or fuel problem. He did not know the total amount in damages, but estimated the Expedition was totaled. Comments
