FIRST TEAM

Wes Apple
St. Charles East, Sr.

Apple recorded back-to-back rounds of 77 at the IHSA Class 3A state meet to finish in 11th place with a 154. His clutch putt on the 18th green at sectionals the week before sent the Saints south to Bloomington, where they eventually finished seventh.

Andrew Cisco
Geneva, Jr.

Though he missed the cut to advance to the state meet as an individual by one stroke, Cisco's sectional score of 77 at St. Andrews still showed his skill and poise. Along with a group of improved underclassmen, he'll look to lead the Vikings to a strong season as a senior.

Jake Helgeson
St. Charles North, Sr.

Helgeson weathered the storm of inclement weather that hit Chicagoland beginning with the Upstate Eight Conference Tournament. His 79 at regionals at Bartlett Hills was near the top of the leaderboard, but his 88 at sectionals fell short of the state tournament cut.

Timmy Johnson
Marmion, Sr.

Johnson opened the IHSA Class 2A meet with a 78 at Weibring Golf Club in Normal, three shots off the individual lead. He finished it with a two-day 157, tying for 14th place. Johnson set the tone for his season with a strong summer showing at the Illinois Junior Amateur.

Nick Michael
Batavia, Sr.

Part of a deep team that finished second behind Yorkville in the Western Sun Conference Tournament, Michael's 79 at regionals at Orchard Valley earned him a berth at sectionals at St. Andrews. He capped his Bulldogs career with an 87.

Jordan Wetsch
St. Charles East, Jr.

Wetsch hit the ground running after a successful summer, and went on to earn Saints co-MVP honors with Apple on a team vote. His state series run – 76 at regionals, 73 at sectionals – preceded a two-day 159 at state that left Wetsch motivated for a return as a senior.

SECOND TEAM

Nate Clark, St. Charles North, Jr.

Jake Ettelbrick, Aurora Christian, Jr.

Tom Laudadio, St. Charles East, Sr.

Tim Schofield, Batavia, Sr.

Josh Schuberg, Kaneland, Jr.

Jon Woods, St. Charles East, Jr.

HONORABLE MENTION

Zach Douglas, Kaneland, So.
Billy Gregory, Geneva, So.
Troy Krueger, Kaneland, So.
Pete Roschmann, St. Charles North, So.
Andrew Sterling, Batavia, Jr.
John Vacek, Batavia, Sr.

COACH OF THE YEAR

John Stock, St. Charles East

Stock guided a Saints team or individual to the state meet for the ninth time in his 10 seasons, but players respect his game, too. During "Fun Friday" practices at Prairie Landing in West Chicago, Stock often took home bragging rights in putting and chipping challenges. "There's a fine line in our sport between you have to take it seriously and you have to have some fun," Stock said. "I strive for that balance so that the kids want to improve but so they also want to play, because this is an enjoyable game."
