ST. CHARLES – An Elburn man is charged with sex abuse after he left behind at a party a videotape depicting his fondling of an unconscious young woman, police said Thursday.
Christopher Runde, 24, of the 500 block of Maple Avenue, was arrested Wednesday and faces one county of sexual abuse. Police say he fondled a 19-year-old girl while she was "passed out."
He remained in jail Thursday afternoon, with bail set at $25,000.
Elburn Police Chief Steven Smith said police were lead to Runde during an underage drinking party investigation.
Smith said officers were called the night of Oct. 30 to the 200 block of Conley Drive in Elburn in response to a report of a fight. When police arrived, they did not find a fight, but instead found a party with underage drinking.
As officers questioned the party goers in the home, they received the report that Runde fondled a girl and he left behind a videotape of the incident, police said.
One person at the party confronted Runde, sparking a physical altercation, police said. During the altercation, Runde dropped a videotape, which was turned over to police.
Eight minors and eight adults also were charged with misdemeanors after the party.
The minors were charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, and the adults were charged with unlawfully permitting a minor to become intoxicated. They are: Jeremy Borciaardt, 21, of the 400 block of Guy Lane, Cortland; James Kluck, 21, of the 300 block of West DeKalb Drive, Maple Park; Steven Ortiz, 21, of the 100 block of Cross Street, Sugar Grove; Jonathon Ramirez, 23, of the 300 block of West DeKalb Drive, Maple Park; Andrew Serafin, 25, of the 400 block of Guy Lane, Cortland; Jeffrey Stralka, 19, of the 1900 block Annette Circle, Sugar Grove; and Joshua Walsh, 21, of the 100 block of Arbor Avenue, Sugar Grove.
The owners of the home were not home and did not know about the party, Smith said.
