Oak Forest eyes Campton chief for its own department
CAMPTON HILLS – The Oak Forest City Council is expected to vote tonight whether to hire Campton Hills Police Chief Gregory Anderson as its new chief, city officials said.
According to its agenda, Oak Forest aldermen are expected to appoint Anderson as its new chief and and approve an employment agreement, Oak Forest City Administrator John Marquart said.
Anderson, 52, has served as the new village's police chief since September 2007. Previously, Anderson worked 27 years with police in Aurora, 12 as an investigator.
Anderson organized the Campton Hills department from scratch, getting it ready to serve the new community by the 11 p.m. shift Oct. 31, 2007. Anderson said if hired in Oak Forest, he would make the department's transmission to a new chief "as smooth as possible."
