Halftime
We're half-way between Week 4 and Week 5 of the football season, as close to the midpoint as we're going to get.
For Sly's money, that means it's time to see which teams around here are serious about being conference championship-caliber, bona fide postseason-threat teams.
We're running out of time to pussyfoot around. You in or you out, fellas? If you're in, it's time to start stringing good performances together, week after week.
That means it's time for North to put a smackdown on Larkin and show the Waubonsie game is not really what the Stars are about.
That means it's time for Geneva to win convincingly at Sycamore, not suffer a letdown after the exciting win last week and just eke one out.
And it's time for Kaneland to send a statement around the Sun that the Knights intend to be around in the conference race til the very end by putting a thumping on Batavia.
On the other side, the Bulldogs are going to be just about outta time to make somethin' of this season if they don't have almost a complete turnaround from last week and find a way to upset the Knights. Hard to see that happening, but it's amazing what a team can do if it digs deep enough and puts it all on the line.
Sly doesn't have much to say right now about STCE. When you're playing East Aurora, you can save the statements for another week and just get outta Dodge with a W!
The first half's been fun but Sly just knows the second half of the season will top it. Always does!
