Godspell Comes to Huntley

Conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak Music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz Originally produced on the New York Stage by Edgar Lansbury / Stuart Duncan / Joseph Beruh From Stephen Schwartz, the composer of the smash hit Wicked, comes a musical adaptation of the greatest story ever told. In Godspell Jesus and his followers reenact parables and scenes from His life through music and energetic choreography. Based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew, this modern and contemporary retelling is a joyous celebration of music, theatericality, comedy and slapstick and includes the hits "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord" and "Day by Day." Godspell speaks to the passion of Jesus Christ to teach love and joy in the hearts of the people, to love your neighbor, and to learn lessons of forgiveness, tolerance and celebration. Godspell is brought to you by the Christian Youth Theatre and will be presented at the Huntley High School Performing Arts Center located at 13719 Harmony Rd.
