GENEVA – The City of Geneva Historic Preservation Commission is sponsoring a citywide photography contest honoring May as National Preservation Month.
ST. CHARLES – The 11th annual Tyler Brett Caruso Memorial Concert is set from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Lincoln Park, which is at Fourth Street and Main Street, St. Charles. The free concert will celebrate the life of Caruso, a St. Charles East High School student leader, musician, athlete, and community activist who died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on July 14, 2002, at the age of 17.
MAPLE PARK – Maple Park American Legion Post 312 has planned Memorial Day services. Services take place Monday, May 27, at six Maple Park cemeteries. Members will place American flags on the graves of service members. The post chaplain will recite a prayer, and the rifle squad will fire three volleys of seven rifles over the graves of veterans.
