November 18, 2009 To the Editor: November 17, 2009 On Saturday, Nov. 7, at night, a slim majority of House Democrats and a single undoubtedly well-compensated renegade Republican passed House Bill H.R. 3962. This witch's brew of coercive socialism and economic deceit arrived embroidered with the Orwellian title: "The Affordable Health Care for America Act." It is not affordable. It does not provide better health care, and it is most certainly un-American. On Saturday, Nov. 7, the House of Representatives made history by passing H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act. Foster, I just wanted to take this moment to thank Rep. Foster for his yes vote on health care reform. The House did a courageous thing this Saturday and made history happen. I'd like to thank Rep. Bill Foster for his vote on H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act. November 6, 2009 To the Editor: November 5, 2009 To the Editor: November 4, 2009 To the Editor, November 3, 2009 To the Editor: As a supporter of the Geneva TAXFACTS, an organization committed to partnering with tax-supported organizations to ensure fiscally sound management and oversight, I am pleased to see that the Geneva school administration and the school board have agreed to hold a community forum at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Geneva Middle School South to discuss spending policy, payroll, credit card usage, budget deficits, etc. October 31, 2009 To the Editor: To the Editor: To the Editor: No one will step up and identify a whole series of wasteful processes in health care that are costing the public about $1 trillion of the $2.5 trillion total cost in 2009. Every person who is involved in reducing the cost situation simply ignores factors that must be eliminated to solve the problem. It may be that the whole industry will have to be taken apart to achieve the cost saving that is desperately needed. Everything should be checked to see if it can be done less expensively or eliminated. How about gym shoes? Broccoli? Televisions? Sham Wows? |
