STREAMWOOD – After crushing Larkin in Tuesday’s first IHSA Class 3A Bartlett Regional semifinal, the St. Charles East girls soccer team stuck around for only a little more than 10 minutes of Geneva’s semifinal against Bartlett.

DeKALB – The Burlington Central softball team scored two runs in the seventh inning Monday to knock off DeKalb, 5-3, for a nonconference win.

ELGIN – New coach, same result for the Batavia boys tennis team after Saturday's conclusion of the two-day Upstate Eight Conference River Division tournament.

The next time T.C. Hull plays soccer for his school team, it will be for Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

St. Charles East junior Matt McCarthy has been in the Saints’ varsity tennis lineup since freshman year, moving up from third doubles as a freshman to second doubles as a sophomore to No. 1 doubles this season alongside George Spoerl.

BURLINGTON – The Kaneland girls track and field team won Friday’s Class 2A Burlington Central Sectional while qualifying five individual entries and two relays for next week’s state meet in Charleston.

SYCAMORE – Lexi Roach hit a two-run double and Allyson O’Herron bashed a two-run home run on Thursday as the Kaneland softball team rallied past Sycamore for a 6-4 win.

Wes Benjamin of St. Charles might have been pitching these days in Charleston, S.C., or one of the other minor league outposts of the New York Yankees, but he’s happy he decided to pitch in Lawrence, Kan., instead.

SYCAMORE – Matt Limbrunner homered and was the tough-luck loser on the pitching mound Tuesday as the Kaneland baseball team fell to Sycamore, 2-1, in Northern Illinois Big 12 East play.

GENEVA – The stage was set for a true crosstown classic, with the St. Charles East and St. Charles North baseball teams both starting a prized southpaw on a mild spring evening Monday at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

ST. CHARLES – The Geneva baseball team's offense had about as streaky of a 48-hour stretch as they come.
