ROSELLE – The hard part was over by Saturday for both the St. Charles North and East boys tennis teams at the Lake Park Sectional.
ROSELLE – St. Charles East and St. Charles North emerged as the top two boys tennis teams on Friday during the first day of the IHSA Lake Park Sectional, each advancing a pair of entries to today’s final round and, consequently, to next week’s IHSA state tournament.
The St. Charles North boys volleyball team lost to one of the best teams in the nation in its regular-season finale Thursday.

Batavia sophomore Ryan Sterling defeated varsity tennis talent as a seventh-grader.
YORKVILLE – The Kaneland baseball team rallied for a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning Tuesday to defeat Northern Illinois Big 12 East rival Yorkville, 3-2.
ST. CHARLES – Defending champion St. Charles East sought to retain the title of its own boys tennis invitational on Saturday but the Saints had to settle for third place, unable to keep pace with Rockford Guilford and Libertyville.
