WOODSTOCK – St. Francis took care of business on the road Friday night with a 61-42 victory over Marian Central in a Suburban Christian Conference Blue boys basketball game.
ST. CHARLES – With just one more strike needed to bowl a perfect 300 game, St. Charles East senior Allison Heuer turned to the crowd behind her and requested some noise.
LISLE – The Kaneland girls bowling team registered a pinfall of 2,081 on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough in a triangular against Bolingbrook (2,552) and Lisle (2,367) at Lisle Lanes.
ST. CHARLES – St. Charles North boys bowlers get their rolls on at St. Charles Bowl while glancing at a backdrop of a dusky Chicago skyline.
AURORA – The St. Charles East boys swimming team won a competitive Upstate Eight Conference meet with Metea Valley on Thursday, 98-87.
BURLINGTON – The Burlington Central boys basketball team pulled away from Sycamore in the second half on Tuesday for a 55-43 non-conference victory.
ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles East boys swimming and diving team defeated Upstate Eight Conference rival Neuqua Valley, 104-81, on Thursday behind solid nights from Shaun Seuschek and Alec Carnell.
ROCHELLE – The Kaneland girls basketball team limited Rochelle to 12 points in the first half and grinded out a Northern Illinois Big 12 East road win, knocking off the Hubs on Tuesday, 38-30.
ST. CHARLES – Paige Jordan scored 15 points on Wednesday to help the St. Charles East girls basketball team defeat visiting Oswego, 48-31.
ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles East girls bowling team knocked off non-conference foe Huntley, 2,748-2,430, on Tuesday at St. Charles Bowl.
FREEPORT – The Wheaton Academy girls basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter of what had been a tight game Monday, knocking off Freeport, 49-42.
Angela Solis has been around as long as the St. Charles East girls bowling program has. The junior is in her third year on varsity and her game has blossomed along with the program. This season, Solis is enjoying her best season in support of the Saints’ vaunted 1-2 punch of Allison Heuer and Katherine Sulaitis. In this week’s Weekend Chit-chat with sports editor Jay Schwab, Solis analyzes her improvement, downplays the color of her ball (it’s purple) and discloses her Christmas dessert of choice. ELGIN – The Geneva girls basketball team remained undefeated with Tuesday’s 62-41 victory at Larkin, but the Vikings still know they aren’t flawless.
LOMBARD – The Aurora Central Catholic girls basketball team was tied with powerhouse Montini until the late stages of the first half Monday but the game soon unraveled as Montini beat ACC, 66-35, in Suburban Christian Conference Blue play.
AURORA – St. Charles North senior boys swimmer Chris Dieter captured individual titles in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and was part of two victorious relays on Thursday, helping the North Stars defeat Waubonsie Valley, 119-67.
