Kaneland batters finally reached Addison Dierschow in the fifth, stringing together three base hits to take a 2-0 lead. Kaneland (6-8, 3-2) added an insurance run in the sixth for a 3-0 league win.
The way Jackson Kottmeyer was pitching against Sycamore on Monday, the Kaneland ace didn’t need much in the way of run support. Parker Violett and Matthew Brunscheen gave him more than he needed, each homering in the Knights’ 7-0 win.
