The St. Charles Public Library now offers board and card games to check out to enjoy from the comforts of your home. There are more than 30 award-winning games in this new and exciting collection. There’s a game for everyone.
Would you like to learn more about your family history, but don’t know where to begin? Genealogy Basics for Beginners can help you get started at 10 a.m. Feb. 24. Professional genealogist Caron Primas Brennan will introduce you to the tools needed to start finding your roots and discuss the steps to gather family stories. You will be able to find and use key resources to help you organize your research. To register for this great program, visit our website or come to the library.
Teens can browse our exciting young adult programs on our events calendar online. Create a Valentine’s tote bag at Teen Crafts at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12, enjoy Books & Pizza at 6 p.m. Feb. 26, and knit a favorite design with friends at 4 p.m. Feb. 28. In addition to these fun programs, we always have video games on hand in our loft for students to play and convenient study spaces, too, of course.
To help keep your kids busy, our youth services department has programming almost daily. If we don’t have a program for the specific day you are looking for, stop by and check out one of our literacy kits or launch pads for some interactive fun! Even if you visit us to say hello to our library fish, our youth services department is a destination in and of itself. You will always find something different to do while you are here or even anywhere in the library!
I encourage you to venture out this winter season and discover what your library can do for you. Challenge yourself to find one new thing.
For information about these services and programs, visit our website www.scpld.org or call the library at 630-584-0076, ext. 1.
