The junior defender made a spectacular non-goalie save midway through the first half of the Class 2A state title game at North Central College. That preserved a one-goal lead and junior forward Hannah Rittenhouse turned in a brilliant performance by scoring a hat trick and one assist Saturday as St. Francis knocked off St. Viator 4-0.
Jenna DiTusa, who was the goalkeeper on the Spartans’ 2012 state championship squad, played college soccer at Bowling Green and Dayton. She was in the stands to see her younger sister win her first state title.
“She doesn’t get bragging rights any more, that’s for sure,” Jill DiTusa said. “I know she’s really supportive of me.
“She’s been at almost every game. If she had to work, she would take [the day] off.
“She’s been my No. 1 supporter. Her and my family are huge, key parts to this championship.”
