[Dan Pitts, owner of Errand Up delivery service in Geneva, delivers meals prepared by Q's Kitchen to the TriCities and Elburn.]
Pitts’ Errand Up delivery service covers Geneva, Batavia, St. Charles and Elburn.
He started the business last year and stays within 10 miles of downtown Geneva.
And while he delivers for Q’s Kitchen, Pitts said he and three other drivers – independent contractors – pick up and deliver just about anything for anybody.
“We go to a store or a restaurant or a business,” Pitts said. “We run there, pay for it, deliver it and send them an invoice and they pay online.”
Starting a delivery service came out of his own need, Pitts said.
“I was doing landscaping work and I needed a bag of mulch,” Pitts said. “I needed one more bag of mulch and I was too exhausted to go get it. And I thought, wouldn’t it be great to give someone $20 and they would go get it for me?”
Errand Up also delivers for Blue Goose Market and Eden on the River in St. Charles, Fernando’s Street Kitchen in Batavia and Flagstone Crafts and Fresh Ground Roasting in Geneva.
“I just did a Walmart run,” Pitts said. “I picked up everything from groceries to a dog crate.”
