ST. CHARLES – Emily St. John Mandel, award-winning and national bestselling author of "Station Eleven," will be at the Arcada Theatre at 7 p.m. April 29 for the culminating event of the St. Charles Public Library’s "One Book, One Community" event — a month-long celebration and city-wide reading experience.
Mandel will share her story and inspiration for writing the book, as well as offer her thoughts about how her elements of her novel would pull a community together when faced with adversity. She is the author of four novels, including "Station Eleven," which was a finalist for a National Book Award and the PEN/Faulker Award, won the 2015 Arthur C. Clark Award and the Toronto Book Award and has been translated into 31 languages.
She lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.
The event is free and open to the public. The Arcada Theatre is located at 105 E. Main St. in downtown St. Charles. Registration is suggested as seating is available on a first-come, first served basis.
Registering does not guarantee a seat. Mandel will also autograph a select number of copies of "Station Eleven" and copies of the book will be available for purchase from Town House Books, 105 N. 2nd Ave., St. Charles, prior to the event.
