Construction is now underway on the Orchard Road Interchange ramps to the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88). The ramps will remain open, but some lanes will be closed.
Electronic message signs and construction signage will be put in place to alert drivers. Delays are expected and closures are expected to last about one week, according to a news release from the Illinois Tollway.
Work that began at these locations in 2018 is scheduled to be complete by the end of spring. Drivers can also use the Illinois Route 31 Interchange to the east as an alternative.
To complete the interchange improvements in 2019, repair work also is scheduled on the ramps connecting eastbound I-88 to Orchard Road and Orchard Road to westbound I-88. Work on these ramps will include pavement patching and shoulder resurfacing.
Maps and construction information about the I-88 Interchange Improvements is available on the Tollway’s website at Illinoistollway.com via the Interactive Tollway map and under “Projects Overview” in the Explore Projects section.
