"Ultimately, [we're] more similar than we think," he said. "I'm really excited that we have an opportunity not only to bring a little bit of what Chicago drag is to Geneva, but ultimately to really showcase Pride."
Featured with hostess Claire Voyant will be Xo Carrington, Elektra Del Rio, Melee McQueen, Alexis Bevels, Aurora Gozmic and Denali O'Nice.
"Our local group of LGBTQ members and friends, Interweave, which meets at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, is really excited about this first ever drag show out here in Geneva," Lynn Steele of Geneva said in an email. "We have had many inquiries though our connections in the TriCity area. We see a lot of enthusiasm about this event, so we are hoping there will be a big turnout for the show. A large crowd will be seen as support of us here in our local community."
Bourdage said she will be helping behind the scenes during the event and advises people to arrive early. She looks forward to "entertainment bringing the community together."
EvenFlow, which serves food and drink, booked an acoustic musical duo called Stripped to open the evening's entertainment at 8 p.m.
