Man injured in Batavia house fire

Batavia Fire Department dispatched at 3:58 a.m. to 327 State St.

BATAVIA – A 33-year-old man was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood for treatment of burns following a fire at a Batavia house on July 13.

The Batavia Fire Department was dispatched at 3:58 a.m. to 327 State St. for a reported structure fire. Neighbors called in the fire and notified the occupants that the rear of the house was on fire.

Batavia firefighters arrived on the scene at 4:01 a.m. All occupants of the residence were reported out of the house on arrival, according to a news release from the Batavia Fire Department.

A 33-year-old man was located in the front of the house and treated by the ambulance crews for burns. He was airlifted by Superior Air Ambulance to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

Fire crews entered the house and brought the fire under control in 20 minutes, according to the release. The fire remains under investigation at this time, the release stated. No firefighters were injured.

Batavia was assisted by St. Charles, Geneva, North Aurora and Fermilab fire departments.
