SUGAR GROVE – Fox Country Players will conduct auditions for the musical "Children of Eden" from July 28 to 30 at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove.
The show is by "Wicked" composer Stephen Schwartz. It features characters from the Bible's book of Genesis, and is focused on the universal themes of family and love.
Auditions will be held in the WCC auditorium from 2 to 5 p.m. July 28; 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 29; and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 30, with appointments requested.
Auditioners will be asked to sing 16 to 32 bars of a song of their choosing and will do cold readings from the script. One should bring music for the accompanist on paper, not on a phone; however, accompaniment by Bluetooth device is allowed, but no a cappella singing.
Sought are adult and youth performers, ages 8 and older, of all ethnicities, genders and abilities to help bring the Biblical epic to life.
Performances will be Oct. 11 to 13 and 18 to 20 at the WCC Auditorium in Sugar Grove. It is directed by Meg McGarry, with music direction by Eric Downs and choreography by Hannah Kennedy.
