This summer, we had 52 Volunteens (teen volunteers) contribute 335 hours of service to the library! We greatly appreciate their help, which included everything from program assistance to Summer Challenge registration to preparing decorations for events. The next session begins Sept. 3, and interested teens can apply at gpld.org/volunteer.

The Librarian Recommends
Collection Development Librarian Jessica Parker recommends “Bears Don’t Eat Egg Sandwiches” by Julie Fultron & Rachel Suzanne. “Jack is happily gobbling his egg sandwich for lunch when there is a knock at the door. It is a hungry bear! Jack offers the bear an egg sandwich, but of course bears don’t eat egg sandwiches. Enjoy this humorous picture book with preschool children to find out how Jack escapes becoming lunch for the hungry bear,” she says.
