Garage door hit, Geneva man charged with DUI

Passed-out driver admitted snorting heroin

GENEVA – A Geneva man was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police were called to where the man allegedly drove his truck into a garage and sideswiped a car, according to police reports.

Officers were called to an address in the 500 block of Kingston Drive shortly after 3 a.m. Aug. 13 in response to a report of a drug overdose, reports stated.

Police found Michael L. Isaacson, 31, also of the 500 block of Kingston Drive, Geneva, in the driver’s seat of his 2005 blue Chevrolet Avalanche truck, slumped over and unconscious, reports stated.

The complainant told police she woke up when she heard a loud bang coming from the garage, and when she came out and spoke to him, Isaacson told her he was OK, then passed out, reports stated.

Isaacson told police he drove to Burger King, returned home and slid into the garage because it was slippery, then snorted heroin while sitting in his truck, reports stated. Court records show the citation noted it was raining that night.

Both tires on the driver’s side of his truck were flat, he had extensive damage to the front end from running into the garage. Police also noted that a vehicle parked two houses down had its side mirror knocked off, reports stated.

Isaacson is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 4.

Isaacson pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of drugs June 18, 2018, for which he received a fine, 12 months of supervision and was ordered to complete an alcohol evaluation, court records show.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on June 17, 2019 when he did not appear in court as required, records show. The warrant was served on July 23, 2019, for which he posted $575 as bail.

A petition to revoke his supervision in that case is pending on Nov. 14, court records show.
