Kane Democratic Women host panel, forum on health care

Start time changed for health panel talk

ST. CHARLES – Kane County Democratic Women will host a panel discussion and forum on Myths and Mysteries of American Health Care from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 19 at the Arcada Theater, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles, according to a news release.

The forum is free and open to the public.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m.

Panelists will be U.S. Rep. Sean Casten, D-Downers Grove, and a member of the New Democrat Coalition Health Care Task Force; Dr. John Perryman, pediatrician and member of Physicians for a National Health Program; Dr. Susan Nedza, emergency room physician and consultant with expertise in Medicare/Medicaid policy; and John Griffin Jr., a licensed insurance agent with certifications for the Marketplace and Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plans.

One of the most important issues facing the American public today is the rising cost of health care, which includes prescription drugs, and the fear that each of us has about whether we will have adequate coverage if we face a serious illness in the future, the release stated.

The Kane County Democratic Women believe that the best solutions come about when the public is able to talk to professionals and representatives and offer suggestions and ask questions.
