The public is invited to Hope for Haitians’ “Bay Lavi” celebration from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Nov. 15 at Riverside Banquets, 35 N. River Lane, Geneva.
The event will feature a DJ, dancing, raffles, games, a silent auction and more.
According to a news release from the organization, “Bay Lavi” means “give life” in Creole, and its mission is to provide housing, clean water, education and medical services to Haitians. The group already has built 14 villages and soon will complete its 15th. Each village has concrete homes that provide housing for 50 to 60 families, a community center, a well, solar devices and more. The funds from the event will go toward these efforts, the news release stated.
Tickets include hors d’oeurves and a drink coupon. Tickets are $75 before Nov. 8 and $85 after that date.
