GENEVA – Parents and their young children are invited to an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Friendship Station, 2960 Blackman Road, Geneva, with parking Please park in the Geneva Middle School South parking lot off Viking Drive and follow the marked path to the preschool entrance, officials announced in a news release.
Friendship Station preschool is a program of the Geneva Park District.
Attendees can learn about the school, meet teachers, explore the classrooms and learn about additional enrichment classes, which extend children’s learning and play experience.
Registration for the 2020-2021 school year begins in January.
Friendship Station Preschool is guided by the philosophy of learning through play.
Children learn to share, create, cooperate, interact, and solve problems in a supportive and interesting environment. Because each child is individual and unique, emphasis is placed on developing a positive self-image, according to the release.
In keeping with the guidelines of Illinois State Board of Education Standards regarding early learning and literacy, the preschool program provides appropriate activities to enhance literacy in young children.
A knowledgeable staff, along with a collaborative working partnership with families, provides support for all children who attend, the release stated.
Friendship Station Preschool offers full-day and half-day options for children in the age groups of 3- to 4-years old and 4- to 5-years-old. All children must be potty trained, no pull-ups or diapers.
Children must be 3 years old on or before Sept. 1 to attend the 3-year-old program.
Children must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 to attend the 4-year-old program.
