GENEVA – The Geneva Chamber of Commerce awarded Bob and Beckie Untiedt, owners of Graham’s Fine Chocolates & Ice Cream and 318 Coffeehouse as its Member of the Year for 2019.

The honor was announced at the chamber’s annual awards dinner Nov. 7 at Eagle Brook Country Club in Geneva.

The Member of the Year Award is presented to a person or persons who have enhanced the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Geneva as a whole through his or her continuing contributions of time and resources during a given year, the chamber announced in a news release.

This year’s award goes to two people who have served the Geneva Chamber and the community of Geneva in numerous ways throughout 2019 and in previous years.

They have been big supporters of the chamber’s festivals and events since joining the chamber over 25 years ago and of local organizations, giving back thousands in donations and service over their 32 years of business.

This couple not only enhances Geneva with their two businesses, but always seems to have the chamber in mind when creating new events, always thinking how their event will help the community grow and bring in more tourism, the release stated.

Their investment in Geneva is obvious with the recent expansion of one of the businesses.

When asked to assist with in-kind donations, these individuals always say yes and many times will bring it up a level than what was even asked for.

The winners have employed hundreds of Geneva families and students. Each of them assured a job is always available when they return from college, because once you have worked for them, you are family, the release stated.

Outside of chamber activities, Bob and Beckie Untiedt have served on various leadership boards in the community including the Board of Directors for Retail Confectioners International, Worship Leaders at St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Worship Team at Christ Community Church.
