SUGAR GROVE —Waubonsee Community College Lions Club will host a chili cook-off Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the student center lobby at the college, 4S783 Rt. 47 Waubonsee Drive, Sugar Grove.
The public is invited and parking is free. Homemade chili will cost $1 each for three samples or $5 for 6 samples. Categories are spicy, mild or nontraditional.
Chili samplers may cast a vote for overall fan favorite, while a panel of guest judges will choose winners in each category. Chili chefs will share their recipes.
Proceeds will benefit a Lions Foundation scholarship.
With about 25 members, WCC Lions Club was formed by students and employees in 2017. Co-sponsors are Geneva Lions Club, Elburn Lions Club and Aurora Noon Lions Club.
According to a news release from the WCC Lions Club, Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. Its 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs are serving communities in 207 countries and geographical areas around the globe.
