GENEVA – RE/MAX Excels in Geneva presented a check for $4,783 to VFW Post 7539 to help them ship care packages to active duty troops overseas.
According to a news release from RE/MAX Excels, the post has shipped thousands of care packages to service men and women to help make life a little brighter by providing some of the comforts of home. The shipping cost for each package is approximately $18 per box.
RE/MAX Excels, along with Jim Stocker of CIBM Mortgage, raised the money during their 3rd annual free shredding event. A raffle was held during the event and 100 percent of the proceeds were donated to the VFW, the news release stated.
“Giving back to the community is extremely important to our team at RE/MAX Excels,” said Hank Erwin, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Excels, in the release.
“This is the third year we’ve contributed to the VFW and we surpassed our goal,” added Paulette Peiffer, Owner of RE/MAX Excels, in the release. “These care packages mean so much to the men and women who receive them. We are proud to contribute to this cause and will continue to do so in the future.”
