ST. CHARLES – The city of St. Charles Finance Department has produced a simplified report to make the city's finances clear and understandable.
The Popular Annual Financial Report is a streamlined version of the lengthier Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, according to a news release from the city of St. Charles. The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report provides detailed financial information required by the State of Illinois.
Those who would like to read the report can go to the city's website at stcharlesil.gov.
“On behalf of the mayor and St. Charles City Council, we are pleased to present the city’s first Popular Annual Financial Report," Finance Director Christopher Minick said in the release. “The goal of the PAFR is to allow the city’s residents to gain an understanding of key elements of the city’s finances. The PAFR presents important information related to the city’s financial health in a clear, user-friendly, non-technician format. We have a good story to tell about the city’s finances and the goal of the PAFR is to make that story easy to understand.”
For the last 33 years, the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association, according to the release.
