SUGAR GROVE – The public is invited to welcome the new executive director of the Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce during an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Old Second National Bank in Sugar Grove. The newly-relocated offices are in the bank's lower level. Beverages and light refreshments will be served.
Beth Goncher assumed her new position on Jan. 7, according to a news release. She is a graduate of Rosary College
Goncher succeeds Shari Baum, who retired after 11 years of service. Baum was appointed as the first and only employee in 2009 after serving as a volunteer since 2004, the release stated. She will continue to serve on the chamber's board, and has remained on board as director for an undetermined amount of time as she continues to train Goncher.
According to the news release, Goncher brings a range of leadership experience to her position, including serving as the district director to a number of elected officials and campaign manager for local political candidates. Her business background includes human resources, marketing and communications, the release stated.
She will be serving in her position at the chamber as she also consults with her own company, Serenity Lane Enterprises, working with client business processes.
Priorities for her first thirty days include training on everyday operations, developing a budget, and getting to know the membership while learning the stories of local business owners, the release stated.
The Old Second Bank is located at 92 Frontage Road in Sugar Grove. For more information about the open house, contact Shari Baum or Beth Goncher at 630-466-7895 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
