VIRGIL – A Maple Park man is charged with one count of aggravated battery and two counts of misdemeanor battery after he allegedly stabbed a 22 year-old man inside a home in the 6N000 block of Meredith Road in Virgil on Wednesday night.

According to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Department, officers were dispatched to the home at 6:50 p.m. for two men fighting in the kitchen. Two other people in the home tried to break up the fight and called police before throwing the perpetrator, Marcus E. Postawa, 43, of Maple Park, out of the house.

Police found Postawa at a nearby bar before taking him into custody. The victim, who lives at the home where the incident occurred, was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening stabbing injuries, according to the news release.
