ST. CHARLES – It appears that the Beef Shack restaurant in St. Charles might have sold its last Cheezy Beef.
A sign in the restaurant at 2115 W. Main St. in St. Charles on Monday states, "This location is officially closed." However, Beef Shack's website says the restaurant is temporarily closed.
Beef Shack's restaurant in DeKalb recently closed about a year after opening in the summer of 2018. Beef Shack also has locations in Elgin, Huntley, Bartlett and Joliet.
A call to Beef Shack owner Spiro Douvris Jr. has not been returned. He started the franchise chain in 2011 when he opened the restaurant in St. Charles.
The chain is known for its Cheezy Beef on garlic bread. It also sells burgers, Chicago style Vienna Beef hot dogs, sandwiches, salads and shakes.
