GENEVA – Director-producer Kevin McCarthy will be part of the panel discussion at the advance screening of "TransGeek" at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 in Geneva.
The new documentary explores the intersection of gender identity and geek culture, interviewing people working in science, technology, gaming, science fiction/fantasy, and other geekish pursuits to give voice to their stories.
The film is sponsored by Interweave and the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva. The film team will provide a guest speaker in the pulpit March 1 as part of a special Interweave-led service.
The Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva is at 102 S. Second St., a block east of the downtown courthouse. Admission is free to the movie, which will be shown in the sanctuary of the historic church, built in 1843.
