After a Campton Hills man raised more than $15,000 for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry with his "Costanza" haircut, some of his friends have followed suit to help their communities.
According to a news release, Nick Ninedorf, 33, held an online fundraiser on his Facebook page for the food bank that would decide how his wife would cut his hair. The winning cut was the "Seinfeld" character George Costanza style, which raised the most money. Since then, several of his friends have held similar challenges on their Facebook pages.
Elburn resident Will Duerling held a similar fundraiser on his Facebook page, and raised $3,700 for Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets in St. Charles. He's now sporting a mohawk. Dan Murphy, also of Elburn, is currently holding a fundraiser on his Facebook page. He's raised more than $5,500 for American Legion Post 630 in Elburn and if he reaches his $10,000 goal will receive The Skullet haircut.
