BATAVIA – High school employees of Covenant Living at the Holmstad in Batavia weren't able to attend their proms this year, but were able to have a modified dance at their jobs.
According to a news release, the senior living community, which employs about 80 students, hosted a prom for the student workers on May 15.
Students were encouraged to wear their prom dresses or suits to work, and each received a corsage or boutonniere. Residents were also encouraged to dress up and stand back in their doorways as the students delivered their meals that evening.
Once the shift ended, the students enjoyed a socially distanced packaged Italian dinner and had access to a photo booth and dancing, the release stated.
