Spike in number of COVID-19 deaths in Kane County reported Wednesday

16 deaths, 131 new cases reported

KANE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 16 new deaths from COVID-19 in Kane County Wednesday, along with 131 new cases of the virus. Kane County has 4,813 total cases and 136 deaths, according to IDPH.

The recent deaths are 1 female 40s, 2 males 40s, 1 female 60s, 3 males 60s, 3 females 70s, 1 female 80s, 2 males 80s and 2 female 90s.

Health officials also announced 2,388 additional cases of COVID-19 and 147 deaths statewide on Wednesday. Illinois has 100,418 cases with 4,525 deaths. Labs reported 21,029 tests over the past 24 hours. The state's rolling positivity rate is 14%.
