ST. CHARLES – Kane County Democratic Women held their first virtual meeting via the online platform Zoom on April 29, according to a news release.
Eighteen members who attended discussed how to promote the values of the organization and engage women in the political process during quarantine, while continuing to provide educational forums on issues important to Kane County residents.
The group acknowledged that 2020 is an important election year, and using the online platform is a way to keep members updated on projects and activities, the release stated.
Fundraising ideas included a 2021 calendar of women’s voting history or a calendar of Democrats who have been elected in Kane County.
Several members of Kane County Democratic Women volunteer with Mask Up Kane County, sewing masks and making semi-disposable no-sew masks that have been provided to groups in need that include Lazarus House, Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry, Hesed House, Pads Elgin, Illinois Youth Center and Marklund, the release stated.
