Big jump in COVID-19 cases in Kane County announced Friday

KANE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced a record daily high of 346 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, along with 5 more deaths from the virus

Kane County has 5,327 total cases and 150 deaths, according to the IDPH.

The recent deaths are 1 male 50s, 2 males 70s, 1 unknown 70s and 1 male 90s.

State health officials also announced 2,758 new cases of the virus and 110 additional deaths. Illinois now has 105,444 cases and 4,715 deaths. Laboratories reported 25,113 tests in the past 24 hours. Illinois' rolling positivity rate has dropped from 14% Thursday to 13% on Friday.
