ST. CHARLES – Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the St. Charles Park District's annual summer concert series at Lincoln Park has been replaced by a drive in concert series that kicks off Thursday at the James O. Breen Community Park.
The concerts will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays. Thursday's show featuring Gone Country is sold out.
The Flat Cats will perform July 23, followed by Nerdvanaon July 30, Howard and the White Boys on Aug. 6, Second Hand Soul Band on Aug. 13 and Johnny Russler and Beach Bum Band on Aug. 20. Reservations are $5 per car and must be made by 4 p.m. the day of each concert. Reservations can be made at stcparks.ticketleap.com/concert/dates.
Each reservation will get 2 parking spaces – one to park in and the other to spread out and enjoy the concert. Those who attend can bring their blankets, lawn chairs, picnic baskets and beverages for these outdoor concerts. Event parking starts at 6 p.m.
Pop up tents are not allowed. Charlie Fox's Pizzeria will be onsite selling 12″ thin crust pizzas and beverages. Restrooms will be available at the splash park.
Bands will be staged in the center of Otter Cove Aquatic Park parking lot at the north end.
Those who attend are urged to practice social distancing and to keep your group and belongings in your designated area. Face coverings are also encouraged.
