ST. CHARLES – Wahlburgers has announced that its restaurant in St. Charles will open to the general public at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The restaurant broke ground in early 2019 and is now ready to open its doors to guests, taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure their well being in accordance with the state of Illinois’ reopening plan. Ready and fully equipped with personal protective equipment, socially distanced seating, pre-shift employee wellness checks, hand sanitizer available throughout the establishment, and a focus on cleaning all high-touch surfaces often, the Wahlburgers St. Charles team is looking forward to safely welcome guests for dine-in service tomorrow.
“St. Charles holds a very special place in my heart,” co-owner Donnie Wahlberg said in a news release. “Like so many in our industry, we’ve faced a lot of setbacks due to the impact of COVID-19, but we are determined to deliver on my promise to bring a safe, exciting and unique dining experience to the Fox Valley.”
Wahlburgers is located at the southwest corner of Route 38 and Randall Road in St. Charles near the Meijer store. The restaurant had been set to open in April before Gov. JB Pritzker issued a stay-at-home order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Restaurants and bars recently were able to reopen indoor dining spaces as the state entered Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan. As part of the Phase 4 guidelines, indoor dining can reopen with groups of 10 or fewer, tables spaced 6 feet apart in seated areas, and with standing areas at no more than 25% of capacity. Capacity restrictions will be reassessed based on the latest science and public health metrics on an ongoing basis throughout Phase 4, according to the plan.
Wahlberg and his wife, actress and television/radio host Jenny McCarthy, live in St. Charles. In March 2019, hundreds of people came out to see Wahlberg break ground on his signature Wahlburgers restaurant.
The 5,000 sq ft. casual restaurant and bar will feature an abundance of outdoor seating for alfresco dining and a one-of-a-kind immersive “Happy Place” area. The whimsical and social media-friendly corner of the restaurant will include a fun-filled and family-oriented pop-up art exhibit for guests to pose in front of for photos.
"Wahlburgers was born from our shared love of spending time together with family around the table eating simple, delicious food, so opening this restaurant in my brother Donnie’s new hometown is really very special for me,” Chef Paul Wahlberg said in the release.
Wahlburgers St. Charles is located at 825 South Randall Road, St. Charles and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for lunch and dinner.
