Marie Loiacono was recently appointed the new Director of Human Resources for Marklund, a nonprofit organization in the western suburbs that provides residential, therapeutic and educational services to children and adults with profound developmental disabilities and those with autism, according to a news release.
She replaces Joan Rubino, who retired this summer after 28 years.
With locations in Blackberry Township, Elgin and Bloomingdale, Marklund has more than 500 employees and serves 174 residents, the release stated.
In this position, Loiacono will plan and direct all aspects of Marklund's human resources policies, objectives and initiatives, and oversees the Human Resources Department. She has been with Marklund since 2011.
"I believe each and every employee's job contributes to Marklund's mission and vision and is integral to enhancing the lives of the individuals we serve," Loiacono stated in the release.
