GENEVA – As of 1 p.m. on Aug. 4, Kane County has had 277 confirmed COVID-19 deaths, according to a news release from Kane County Coroner Rob Russell.
Since July 20, the Coroner’s Office has recorded 11 COVID-19 deaths, indicating a statistical average of about four deaths per week.
Although each death is tragic, the coroner stated in the release that he is hopeful this trend will continue to decrease.
On July 20, the coroner recorded the death of a 91-year-old woman at South Elgin Rehab and Health Center, 746 W. Spring St., South Elgin.
On July 25, a woman, age 70, at Amita St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin; on July 27, a woman age 89 at the same hospital, died of coronavirus.
On July 28, a woman age 93 died at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin and a man, age 61, died at Amita Mercy Medical Center in Aurora.
On July 29, a Geneva woman age 77 died at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
Also on July 29, a woman age 55 died at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.
On July 30, two men, both age 55, died at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
On Aug. 1, a man age 58 died at Amita St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
On Aug. 2, a woman age 73 died at Rush Copley in Aurora; and a man age 82 died at home in Pingree Grove.
