Hendrickson, Kattke to star in live Batavia concert at Water Street Studios

BATAVIA – Tickets are going fast for a live concert by Ernie Hendrickson and Brother John Kattke from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 28, at Water Street Studios in Batavia.

Seating is limited for the exclusive event that also features a cash bar with beverages provided by Solemn Oath Brewery and The Wine Exchange. Hendrickson’s 2007 solo record, "Down the Road," was deemed "groundbreaking" by Illinois Entertainer, and established him as a singer-songwriter of rare talent, a news release stated.

His subsequent records, "Walking with Angels," "One for the Dreamers" and "Roll On" found him working with industry luminaries including producers Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams), Chad Cromwell (Neil Young, Mark Knopfler) and Brian Deck (Counting Crows). Inspired by American roots music and the likes of Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Jerry Garcia, he has played stages from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville to the Living Room in New York City and all points in between.

His original songs can be heard in regular rotation at more than 100 radio stations across the country.

Also featured is John Kattke (aka Brother John), described as one of the most talented and versatile musicians on the Chicago music scene. Performing double duty on guitar and keyboards, he’s been a resident musician at Buddy Guy’s Legends for 30 years. He has played with Eric Clapton, Steve Miller and Black Crowes, and toured or recorded with many blues legends including Junior Wells, Koko Taylor, Otis Rush and Buddy Guy.

Because of health precautions, tables will be set up at least 6 feet apart both inside the gallery and outside in the enclosed Alley Space. Guests must select a table to remain seated or standing and may enjoy food and beverages while at their table. If traveling to the restroom or to purchase drinks from the bar or food from the food stand, masks must be worn. Hand sanitizer and face masks will be available if needed.
