These are the latest Kane County Sheriff’s reports:
A resident of the 300 block of Normandie Drive, Sugar Grove Township, reported on Aug. 27 that $2,500 was stolen from her home. The woman told deputies that sometime between December 2019 and January 2020, she had saved and stored 125 20-dollar bills which was stored in a closet of a spare bedroom in her house, the report stated. She believed the money was taken when her daughter invited several adult friends and their teen children to stay at her house, the report stated.
• Twenty feet of wiring harness valued at $1,000 was reported burglarized Aug. 19 from a truck cab with an open frame from the 7N400 block of Route 25, St. Charles Township. The owner, who stores his truck there, told the deputy he suspects scrappers stole, the report stated.
• A pole barn in the 2S900 block of Kirk Road, Batavia Township, was reported vandalized Aug. 27 with spray paint, causing $500 in damage.
• A resident of the 2S900 block of Shagbark Drive, Batavia Township, reported Sept. 7 that an unknown person was crawling through the backyard at 11:15 p.m. The crawler was caught on a video camera system and motion light in the back yard. The video showed a light-skinned white or Hispanic man with a thin build, wearing dark clothing, face mask and baseball hat crawling in the yard towards the house, the report stated. Once the light turned on, he stood up and ran southeast. Deputies could find no evidence in the backyard and a neighborhood canvass was not done due to the time of night, the report stated
• A resident of the 39W200 block of South Mill Creek Drive, Blackberry Township, reported Aug. 31 that her Nest camera sent her phone a notification alert for her screened-in porch at 3:15 p.m. while she was out. The video shows a white man pressing his hand on the screens of the porch before trying the storm door entry to the porch, the report stated. The video shows a man wearing blue jeans, a brown shirt and baseball cap and may be posing as a construction worker in the area to avoid suspicion, the report stated•
