Geneva Chamber hosts 'Challenge' to aid nonprofits impacted by COVID-19

Public will have 24 hours on Sept. 24 to donate to local charities

GENEVA – The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Challenge is an effort to aid local nonprofits that have had a difficult time fundraising during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release.

The public is invited to visit the chamber website at www.genevachamberchallenge.org on Sept. 24 where registered nonprofits will be listed – along with their mission statements and who they support – and can make donations.

“The Geneva Chamber Challenge is our first 24-hour online campaign designed to raise money and bring awareness to our nonprofit members,” Chamber President Paula Schmidt stated in the release.

“Because of the COVID-19 crisis, many of these causes have suffered financially and were not able to raise the funds needed for their cause. We ‘challenge’ our community to donate to our nonprofits – even a little can mean a lot,” Schmidt stated in the release.

The Geneva Chamber Challenge is supported by A-Accurate Door Service Inc., Compass Mortgage, FoxFire, Geneva Bank & Trust, Lakeshore Recycling Systems and the Roder Group of CrossCountry Mortgage Inc.
