FoxFire Tavern: A Wonderful Community Partner

SPONSORED

A community is made up of citizens, businesses, and other organizations that have shared values and interests and a common purpose. Members of a community work together to develop relationships and activities that encourage each member to respect and support one another, and to take pride in their environment.

Geneva, Illinois is a wonderful community that takes care of its own. "One of our terrific Chamber of Commerce members is FoxFire Tavern," said Kelli Rogers, Sponsorship Director for the Geneva Chamber of Commerce. "K.C. Gulbro, FoxFire's chef and owner, does an amazing job of getting involved in the community. Through fundraising and other ways of supporting our town, FoxFire has really made an imprint on Geneva."

Last summer, FoxFire sponsored the Chamber's Craft Brew Tent during the annual Swedish Days Festival, and offered free hamburgers and chicken sandwiches during "First Responders' Night" at one of Geneva's weekly summer car shows. Event Coordinator Samantha Donovan also arranges for participation in March of Dimes and Tip a Cop fundraisers each year . On December 6th, FoxFire will sponsor the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event in downtown Geneva.

"Geneva is a tight-knit community, and our business owners enjoy supporting each other," added Rogers. "We're fortunate that so many Geneva businesses support the Chamber. FoxFire is a family-owned business that's been serving our community since 2003. At the recent Geneva Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner, which hosts and recognizes our business sponsors that go above and beyond, K.C. Gulbro won our Spirit Award."

FoxFire supports city employees and first responders by providing free soup and coffee when the weather is cold. FoxFire also donates gift cards to a local church so returning missionaries can enjoy a complimentary taste of home. "There wouldn't be a FoxFire if it wasn't for the people of Geneva," said Curt Gulbro, K.C.'s father and business partner. "It's our honor to give back to such a great community."
